THE SELF GOVERNANCE DAY AT ICSK

"True teachers are those who use themselves as bridges over which they invite their students to cross, then having facilitated their crossing, joyfully collapse, encouraging them to create their own." - Nikos Kazantzakis

The self governance day was organised with much enthusiasm on the 10?th of September in the ICSK - Senior branch. Interested students were given a chance to prove their mettle in the art of pedagogy. There was a riot of colours as the young aspiring teachers marched in for the special assembly which was organised on the occasion of the Teacher's day. Intricately designed, hand - made cards and flowers were given away to teachers as a token of love and affection. The School Senate President Syed Baqir, in his address elucidated on the role of an exemplary teacher and the values imbibed by children. The Principal Dr. V. Binumon, focussed on the need of assimilating positive skills like self management, leadership and team building in his address. He emphasised on the necessity to boost the overall self confidence in children.

The Students were prepared and equipped with lesson plans for the proceedings of the day. Each student was assigned with a topic according to prior preparations for finding out the best among the debutant teachers. Evaluation was done as the students interacted with the class. As the day unfurled the students of class XII organised an event in which the students presented a dance and sang songs exclusively for their teachers as a tribute to their wonderful effort which was reminiscent of the yester years.
