ICSK Students Interact With Infosys Chief Mentor Narayan Murthy.

The students of the Indian Community School had the rare opportunity of interacting with the Chief Mentor and creator of Infosys, Mr. Nagavara Ramarao Narayana Murthy, on 09th November 2012. Mr. Narayan Murthy, Chairman Emeritus of Infosys, the IT giant, was visiting Kuwait and was interviewed by ICSK students on a wide range of questions ranging from careers in IT to his wife, Mrs. Sudha Murthy's writings. The students were thrilled to share a few minutes with Mr. Murthy who also highlighted the achievements of his career.

When posed a question about the scope of Infosys for today's generation, he answered that the multinational business provider recruited people from around the world.Another student grabbed the opportunity and inquired if it was advisable for students who are interested in the computer field to study abroad or to study in India. He replied that if it could be affordable it would be better to study abroad but come back to serve India.

When asked about the award he cherished the most, he replied by saying that an award is a manifestation of people's affection and therefore he treasured all of them. When asked about his inspiration, he shared that many people had inspired him along the way- bosses, employees- and that all these people stood to be inspirations for him in many ways. A question was put across to him asking him what he would have become if he were not the chairman of Infosys. He promptly responded that he would have loved to be a professor, as he came from a family of professors. He informed the children that his wife, father, brother, sister-in-law and brother-in-law were all professors. The final question put forth to him was his feelings about his wife, Mrs. Sudha Murthy's writings. He smiled joyfully and answered that he appreciated her work and loved it. Her stories, he continued, were short, easy to understand and always had a message for everyone, young and old.

ICSK children got an opportunity to come face to face with a common Indian, who despite his short failures, achieved extra-ordinary success through his determination, skills and entrepreneurship. At the end of the day, children were impressed with not just his success story but also his humility.
