The Indian Community School- Amman welcomed the new session of the academic year with orientation classes and interactive sessions on 11th and 12th of September 2017. All members of the staff were welcomed cordially by the Principal Mr. Rajesh Nair. After the general discussions on the strategic plans for the academic year, Principal gave an in detail presentation on 'The new evaluation scheme of CBSE for classes VI to X'. The staff were briefed about the criteria of evaluation and grading in the new assessment system.
An interactive session on 'Problem solving techniques and life skills' was organized for the staff members, the next day. The teachers formed groups and the solutions to the given tasks were discussed and presented. This activity enhanced the positivity and confidence among the staff members. This was followed by a presentation on 'Effective teaching techniques' by the Vice Principal Dr. Mary Isaac, which gave the essential guidelines to be an effective teacher. By the end of the day the school was all set to welcome the students back to school.
The Indian Community School was established on the 5th May, 1959. The school, since its inception, has been rendering yeoman service to the Indian Diaspora by providing excellent education exclusively for Indian children.
