Light over darkness..

The students of ICSK Junior celebrated the birthday of the Father of our Nation, Mahatma Gandhi by conducting a series of special assemblies on the occasion. The participants were dressed up in white traditional clothes to symbolize peace. He was portrayed as the matchless political leader who led the nation to freedom. The programme began with the recitation of the verses from the Holy Quran followed by the school prayer. While delivering the speech, the children also remembered the birthday of Sri. Lal Bahadur Sashtri who was the second Prime minister of independent India.

Students enthralled the gathering with their singing skills. They sang the patriotic songs which made the students and the other people emotional and created an electrifying atmosphere. A fabulous dance was presented by the little dancers.

A skit was presented depicting Gandhiji’s teaching showcasing the moral depicted by the three wise monkeys namely; speak no EVIL, hear no EVIL and see no EVIL.

Another skit depicting nonviolent civil disobedience movement that was initiated by Mahatma Gandhi during the colonial period was a visual treat.

Principal Mrs. Sherly Dennis addressed the assembly and emphasized the importance of purity in our thoughts, deeds and non violence which were the real weapons of our great leader Mahatma Gandhi.

Assembly dispersed after the pledge with the singing of the National Anthem of India.
