SOCIAL SCIENCE CLUB OF ICSK SENIOR CELEBRATES THE ELEGANCE OF WOMENHOOD





Social Science is a subject which offers a systematic study of man in relation to his society. This subject gives functional knowledge of history, geography, economics, civics etc. in an integrated manner and inculcates abilities, skills, attitudes and values that would help children to become useful citizens of the society.

ICSK Senior's Social Science Club aims at making children capable of becoming responsible, productive and valuable emissary of humanity. The activities of the club focus on promoting patriotism, discipline and an understanding of our historical culture. It helps increase the awareness about social and environmental issues and students understand and uphold the values of social harmony, brotherhood and compassion.

On 23rd May, 2017 the Social Science Club Day was celebrated with a lot of pomp and splendour at ICSK Senior. Principal Dr. V. Binumon and Vice Principal Dr. Sam T. Kuruvilla graced the occasion.

The programme commenced with the invocation of blessings from the Almighty, which was followed by prayer song by school choir- Swaranjali. An inspirational speech was delivered by Mr. Joel D'Souza in which he emphasized the importance of shouldering the responsibility of being a member of the world. Through her speech on 'Women Empowerment' Miss Gayathri Nair of XII-I elaborated on the valuable role of the girl child in the society and profoundly touched the hearts of the audience. A power point presentation on the above said theme added grandeur to the occasion.

A mesmerizing dance performance was presented by the children of different classes based on the theme 'Women Empowerment'. Dr. Sam T. Kuruvila moved the audience with his words of humour and wisdom. The programme concluded with the vote of thanks delivered by Mrs. Chandrika Ravikumar, coordinator of the club. The programme struck an emotional and inspirational chord with the audience to 'Be the Change and Change the World'.
