ICSK PRINCIPAL DR.V.BINUMON TO PROVIDE CBSE PRE- EXAM PSYCHOLOGICAL COUNSELLING TO STUDENTS & PARENTS





Dr. V Binumon, the Principal of the Indian Community School Kuwait, has been appointed as the CBSE Pre-Exam Psychological Counsellor to provide counselling services to the students at the time of preparation as well as during the examinations to overcome common psychological problems and exam related stress with regard to Grade X & XII Board Examinations. These services are extended to the parents as well to clear their doubts and queries regarding the same.

For the 22nd consecutive year CBSE will provide Pre-Examination psychological counselling services to students and parents. The programme is designed as part of the board's outreach programme which caters to the heterogeneous students' and parent's population and vast geographical network of schools. The Psychological counselling which has already started will continue during the examinations up to 04th April, 2019 to help students overcome exam related anxiety.

Dr.Binumon has been part of the CBSE Pre and Post-Exam Counselling for the last five years. The counselling session will be carried out telephonically and Dr. V. Binumon can be reached at the mobile number 00965 66226950 between 8:00 p.m. and 10 p.m. on all these days. Dr. V. Binumon is a trained personnel who has a brilliant record as an Education Counsellor and is empathetic to the needs of students. He has undergone courses and training in Neuro-Linguistic Programming and Hypnotherapy as well. Simultaneous to the counselling session, students and parents shall be instructed on techniques of harnessing stress and stress-related problems.

CBSE has provided toll-free helpline numbers 1800118004 which will be available to students in India and abroad. It would work 24X7 and is expected to resolve exam-related issues. Stakeholders can also avail counselling through email. Tele-counselling services including pre-recorded information on tackling board exams, tips for better preparation, time and stress management, FAQ's along with live counselling sessions are also available at the official website, cbse.nic.in.

A total of 87 counsellors, out of which 16 are placed in foreign, are available to students, parents, teachers and other stakeholders. Additionally, two special educators are also deployed.

The CBSE has also uploaded a comprehensive audio-visual presentation called 'Knowing Children Better' on its official website. According to the board, it is first-ever such presentation. The various topics deal with real-time experiences and problems of adolescents with suggestive measures as coping strategies are also available.
