ICSK CONDUCTS GRADUATION CEREMONY FOR CLASS XII



The Indian Community School, Senior Branch, conducted the Graduation Ceremony for the outgoing batch of class XII students on 20th February, 2013, at the ICSK Senior Branch auditorium. The children were blessed by invited dignitaries and the ICSK fraternity. The chief guest of the occasion was Dr.Mustafa Al-Mousawi, the consultant surgeon at the Organ Transplant Center in Kuwait. Dr. Mustafa is also the Head of Kuwait organ procurement and Vice-President of the Kuwait Transplant Society. Mr. Vinod Kumar, the First Secretary, information press and cultural wing, Embassy of India to Kuwait, was the guest of honour on the occasion. Mr.Ashok Kalra, Honorary Chairman to the ICSK Board of Trustees; Mr. Rajan Daniel, Honorary Vice-Chairman; Mr. Vijay Karayil, Honorary Secretary; Mr. Dinesh Kamath, Honorary treasurer and other members of the ICSK Board of Trustees, Principals and Vice Principals of all the branches of ICSK, members of the elected Parents Advisory Council, teachers and special invitees were present on the occasion.




Dr.V.Binumon , Principal of ICSK Senior, welcomed the guests to the occasion. He advised the students that to achieve success in life, everyone’s blessings were as important as the hard work one put in.



To invoke the blessings of the Almighty, the invited dignitaries lit the ceremonial lamp. A melodious inspirational tune was rendered by the school choir. Mr.Ashok Kalra, Honorary Chairman to the ICSK Board, addressed the gathering. While wishing the students brilliant results in the oncoming examination, he reminded them to be the torch bearers of their alma mater in the years to come. The Chief Guest, Dr.Mustafa Al-Mousawi, in his address, remembered his student days with nostalgia. He recalled his ambition and the hard work he put in to achieve his ambition. He advised the students to work tirelessly to achieve their goals in life. He also conveyed to the audience the importance of organ donation as it is a unique gift that can save somebody’s life. The reminisces shared by the student representative, Master Ajish Sam, Master Vivek Unni Krishnan and Ms. Liz Maria Kuriakose brought back the images of bygone years into the minds of all present. Mr. Vinod Kumar, the guest of honour on the occasion, extended his best wishes to all the students. Mementoes and convocation certificates were presented to the students by the chief guest, the guest of honour, the Honorary Chairman, the Honorary Vice-Chairman and the Honorary Treasurer.



Mrs. Susan Rajesh Pothen, the staff secretary at ICSK Senior, rendered the vote of thanks to all the invitees and the ICSK fraternity. In the exhortation ceremony that followed, Dr. Sam.T.Kuruvilla, the Vice-Principal of Senior Branch, read out the promises to be kept by the newly graduated students. As the students took oath, they received the lit candles that also signify the dispelling of darkness of ignorance as also conveyed by the ICSK motto 'From Darkness to Light'. The ceremony concluded as the students were blessed by teachers as they walked through the 'corridor of blessings', ready to step out of school and face the outside world.
