INTER BRANCH QUIZ COMPETITION - SMARTICUS- 2023

Nov 18, 2023 ICSK Junior

Quizzing is a celebration of curiosity, where every correct answer is a triumph and every incorrect one is a valuable lesson.

To encourage and boost inquisitiveness in young minds, it is necessary to foster a spirit of inquiry. The school aims to offer an enriching atmosphere that may enable the kids to make their lives meaningful and goal-oriented.

ICSK Junior conducted ‘SMARTICUS’, an inter-branch quiz competition for the third consecutive year. The students of classes IV, V, and VI, were provided with opportunities to explore quizzing in a fun way. The event was held on 18th November 2023 in the school premises.

The primary goal of this event was to educate them on topics like general knowledge, science and technology, current affairs, sports, entertainment, etc. The program commenced at 9:00 AM with a soulful rendition of the Quranic verses.

Mrs. Soummya Thomas, Coordinator of Smarticus 2023, welcomed the gathering and motivated the participants to enjoy the quizzing session.

Mrs. Hazel Rashmi D’Souza, a member of the MACE ToastMasters club, was the quiz master, who conducted the event smartly.

Altogether, five branches—ICSK Senior, ICSK Khaitan, ICSK Amman, Indian School of Excellence, and ICSK Junior—participated.

Each team consisted of two participants who answered swiftly with aplomb. The quizzers went through nine rounds, comprising vocabulary, general knowledge, audio-visual, rapid fire, etc.

ICSK-Amman bagged the winning trophy, followed by ICSK-Khaitan. The remaining team members were given participation certificates.

The children participated with full zeal and enthusiasm. They displayed smart thinking and a sharp presence of mind.

Principal ICSK Junior, Mrs. C. Sheeja, congratulated the winners and acknowledged the hard work put in by all the quizzers. She also highlighted the fact that every participant had been updated with additional knowledge after participating in the event.

Almost an hour-long quiz proved to be not only a tool for testing knowledge but also a lesson: that all can’t be winners; failure is a stepping stone to success.

The continued success story of conducting ‘SMARTICUS’ was made possible due to the combined effort of team Smarticus headed by the principal, Mrs. C. Sheeja.

The vote of thanks was proposed by the academic coordinator, Mrs. Lubna Lodhi.

The event concluded on a cheerful note, as the objective was to groom the participants and not win the competition.
