The Indian Community School, Kuwait (Afternoon Wing) held its first general assembly after the summer vacation on Thursday, setting the tone for the new academic term with the theme “National Sports Day. The assembly, meticulously organized by the students of Class 12K under the mentorship of their class teacher, Mr. Sreekumar, began with the Islamic and school prayers. This was followed by the flag hoisting and salute to the Kuwait national flag, which evoked a sense of pride among students.
The program included the word of the day, thought of the day, and the latest news updates, after which students led the school pledge. A highlight of the event was a well-articulated speech by students of Class 12K on the importance of sports in building discipline, teamwork, and resilience. To bring the theme alive, a vibrant dance performance and a skit on sportsmanship captivated the audience and emphasized the value of fair play and perseverance in life.
Deputy Vice Principal, Ms. Mini Shaji Joseph, addressed the gathering, appreciating the efforts of the students and reminding them of the need to balance academics with physical fitness and healthy competition. The assembly concluded with the national anthem, leaving the audience inspired by the spirit of sportsmanship.
