The Indian Community School Kuwait, Amman Branch marked a historic milestone as it hosted its annual Investiture Ceremony of school senate on 2nd June 2026. The grand event, filled with pageantry and school pride, formally inducted the newly elected student senate and house leaders into their roles of responsibility.
The auspicious morning commenced with an air of immense excitement among the gathered audience of distinguished guest, faculty, proud parents and enthusiastic students. The Chief Guest for the occasion, Mr. Azharuddin Amer Mohammad, Vice President, Financial Investments – Al Imtiaz Group and Honorary Secretary, BOT, ICSK, inaugurated the ceremony by handing over the vibrant school flags to the elected core senate members and house captains, who then advanced in a spectacular march past.
Following a devout rendition of the Islamic Prayer by Ziyan Sameer Ali and the respectful singing of the Kuwait National Anthem, the traditional and propitious lamp lighting ceremony took place. The Chief Guest Mr. Azharuddin Amer Mohammad, alongside Principal Mr. Rajesh Nair, Vice Principal Dr. Mary Isaac, and Senate Advisor Mrs. Sumitra Nandakumar, lit the lamp, symbolizing a collective journey from darkness to light and wisdom.
In his welcome address, the visionary Principal, Mr. Rajesh Nair, expressed immense pride in the school's growing legacy. This was followed by an eloquent introduction of the Chief Guest by Vice Principal Dr. Mary Isaac followed by a breathtaking, scintillating invocation dance performed by the adept dancers of ICSK Amman. A unique highlight of the day was an insightful presentation by the Senate Advisor, Mrs. Sumitra Nandakumar, who shared behind-the-scenes glimpses of the democratic electoral process through a special video presentation, of all participating candidates.
The emotional peak of the ceremony arrived with the pinning of the badges. In a heartwarming gesture, the parents of the core senate members and house captains accompanied their children onto the stage to witness them receiving their official insignias from the Chief Guest. Leading the student body for the year is the newly invested Senate President, Hannah Susan John, described as an inspirational and strategic leader, alongside the dedicated and determined Vice President, Hanash Harshad.
The Principal, Mr. Rajesh Nair, then administered the sacred Oath of Office, with the new leaders promising to serve their institution with absolute integrity.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Guest, Mr. Azharuddin Amir Mohammad, delivered an empowering and thought-provoking speech, urging the new student council to look beyond consensus and become true molders of positive change. He emphasized that every student, not just elected leaders, should embody leadership qualities wherever they are. They should act with responsibility, remain leaders in their own way and collaborate for the success of the school.
As a token of the school’s deep gratitude, Principal Mr. Rajesh Nair presented the Chief Guest with a commemorative memento.
Following an inspiring motivational song by the school choir, the newly appointed Senate President, Hannah Susan John, delivered the acceptance speech, promising that the senate would actively serve as a true voice for the student community.
The memorable event concluded with a formal Vote of Thanks delivered by Vice President, Hanash Harshad, followed by a grand and disciplined March Off as the newly invested Senate gracefully exited the venue, ready to step into a bright and brilliant year of leadership.
