On February 20, 2024, the ICSK Junior campus was filled with patriotic enthusiasm as we commemorated Kuwait National Day and Liberation Day through a special assembly.
The assembly unfolded with the recital from the Holy Quran, instilling a sense of reflection, and a gracious welcome note, creating an atmosphere of anticipation.
Thoughts for the day were shared in both English and Hindi, offering insightful reflections, followed by a prayer song that resonated with unity and devotion.
The ceremony reached a pinnacle as the Kuwait flag was hoisted by the principal, Mrs. C. Sheeja, amidst patriotic fervor, marking the significance of Kuwait National Day and Liberation Day, accompanied by the stirring strains of the Kuwait national anthem.
A set of students were dressed in the four colours of the Kuwait national flag, giving a festive look, symbolizing their significance, and reminding us how our foster country emerged successfully from multiple upheavals. The glorious past of Kuwait was portrayed through a melodrama, focusing on the
emergence of its society and culture. The places to visit and interests were presented pictorially attaining the focus of the audience. The beautiful poetry recitation by a student expressed her great love and praise for the country.
Another highlight was a speech delivered, which emphasized the bravery and resilience of the Kuwaiti people in defending their homeland, sharing the significance and dignity associated with this momentous occasion. A visually captivating 3D formation showcased the Kuwait national flag and the display of national symbols.
The cultural events unfolded with a graceful dance performance by girls, followed by an energetic sword dance by boys, illustrating the rich customs and traditions of Kuwait. The choreography depicted themes of patriotism, resilience, and celebration, mesmerizing the audience with its vibrant energy and artistic expression. The Nightingales of Junior Branch presented a patriotic song in Arabic bringing a roar of enthusiasm and the willingness to shake with each beat. The whole stage was decked with vibrant colours and an abundance of love and passion flowing from each heart for our second home, Kuwait.
Principal, Mrs. C. Sheeja extended warm greetings to everyone on the occasion of Kuwait National and Liberation Day. In her address to the gathering, she emphasized the importance of Kuwait Liberation Day and expressed gratitude to all involved, in making the assembly a memorable tribute to this auspicious day. She reminded us of the quality of life we all have in Kuwait, so must abide by its rules and regulations. She encouraged everyone to uphold the spirit of sacrifice, the true meaning of freedom and unity.
A heartfelt thank-you note marked the conclusion of the assembly, leaving the audience with a sense of pride and appreciation. The assembly dispersed, carrying the spirit of freedom with the students and staff of ICSK Junior School.
