The Indian Community School, Senior, witnessed an evening filled with pride, music, colour and celebration as Paradigm 2026, the annual Arts Fest, reached its much-awaited culmination with the Valedictory Ceremony held on Thursday, 17 September 2026. More than a competition, Paradigm became a celebration of every child who dared to step forward, discover a talent, overcome hesitation and let their imagination find a voice.
With over 1,000 students participating in 49 onstage and offstage events, the festival provided a rich platform for music, dance, literature, visual arts and creative expression. Across the many performances and competitions, students discovered that the true beauty of an arts festival lies not merely in winning, but in the courage to participate, the joy of creating and the memories made along the way.
The school had the privilege of welcoming Mr. Bader Nori, Kuwaiti National Singer, as the Chief Guest and Mr. Saif Edeen Mohamad, General Manager, Holiday Inn, Kuwait, as the Guest of Honour. The distinguished gathering included Mr. Nihas Vanimal, Basic Life Support Trainer, Advanced Cardiac Life Support Trainer and Social Worker, Mr. Shaikh Abdul Rahiman, Hon. Chairman to the Board of Trustees; Mr. Amer Mohammad, Hon. Secretary to the Board of Trustees; Mr. Vinukumar Nair, Hon. Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees; Dr. V. Binumon, Principal and Senior Administrator of ICSK; Mr. Rajesh Nair, Principal, ICSK Amman, Mr. Gangadhar Shirsath, Principal, ICSK Khaitan; Mrs. Shirley Dennis, Director, ISEK; Mrs. C. Sheeja, Principal, ICSK Junior; along with Vice Principals and Deputy Vice Principals of ICSK.
The ceremony began on a note of reverence with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by the National Anthem of Kuwait. A soulful prayer song by the school choir, Swaranjali, created an atmosphere of gratitude and devotion. The ceremonial lighting of the lamp by Chief Guest Mr. Bader Nori and Guest of Honour Mr. Saif Edeen Mohamad, symbolized knowledge, creativity and hope.
In his heartfelt welcome address, Dr. V. Binumon reminded the students that every child is unique and that the journey of growth is never without challenges. He encouraged them to step beyond their comfort zones, embrace change, think differently and continue moving forward. The spirit of celebration then came alive with a spectacular welcome performance. Their energetic presentation created an atmosphere of warmth and festivity.
A specially prepared video presentation took the audience back through the journey of Paradigm 2026, offering glimpses of the countless joyful, exciting and tireless moments that had unfolded behind the scenes. From rehearsals and preparations to performances and celebrations, the visual journey brought back cherished memories and drew smiles, cheers and applause from the audience.
The celebration received an especially melodious beginning when Chief Guest Mr. Bader Nori, the renowned Kuwaiti National Singer, inaugurated the programme with his captivating voice. His musical presence added a special charm to the occasion and created a memorable connection between the celebration of young talent and the rich cultural landscape of Kuwait.
The ceremony also celebrated the literary creativity of the students with the launch of a book authored by Ms. Padma Gethaa, a Grade 10 student. The book was officially launched by the Chief Guest. Sharing the motivation behind her writing, Padma offered an inspiring glimpse into the thoughts and imagination that led her to put her ideas into words.
The occasion also witnessed the official release of “Inspire 2026,” the Annual School Magazine, by Chief Guest Mr. Bader Nori. The publication captured the achievements, experiences, creativity and collective memories of the school community.
In recognition of his valuable contribution to student and staff welfare, Mr. Nihas Vanimal, Basic Life Support Trainer, Advanced Cardiac Life Support Trainer and Social Worker, was felicitated by the Chief Guest for conducting BLS training for students and staff.
The auditorium soon resonated with music once again as Ruth Ann Toby and Ms. Esther Dinjen presented an energetic duet performance. Their harmonious voices and confident stage presence added another delightful musical dimension to the celebration, earning warm appreciation from the audience.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Saif Edeen Mohamad, Guest of Honour, appreciated the students for their enthusiastic participation, courage and confidence. He also acknowledged the encouragement provided by parents and the dedication of teachers and the school in creating opportunities for students to discover and develop their talents.
The cultural programme that followed kept the audience captivated with a colourful array of performances. A graceful ramp walk brought style and confidence to the stage, while a captivating Kuchipudi performance by Ms. Dyuthi Vandana reflected the elegance and discipline of classical Indian dance. The mime performance brought storytelling to life through expressive movement and silent communication, while the much-anticipated Battle of the Bands filled the auditorium with youthful energy and musical excitement. The dance presentations that followed added colour and energy to the evening, with young performers moving in perfect rhythm and bringing every beat and gesture to life. Their expressive movements, graceful formations and vibrant costumes transformed the stage into a celebration of culture and youthful exuberance. Together, the performances reflected the extraordinary range of talent nurtured through Paradigm.
The most eagerly awaited moment of the evening arrived with the Prize Distribution Ceremony. More than 350 students were honoured for their excellence across the various categories. Medals, trophies and certificates recognized the dedication, creativity and perseverance of the young participants.
Special individual recognition came through the prestigious Kalathilak titles. In Category 3, Lakshmi Vaishnavi Bhallam of Class 8F was conferred the title of Kalathilak. In Category 4, Ameya Praveen of Class 9D received the honour, while in Category 5, Esther Kammu Dinjen of Class 12A was conferred the title ‘Kalathilak’.
The presentation of awards for the Al-Arfaj – I Love Kuwait Competition was a notable highlight of the occasion, celebrating students’ creativity and talent. The Al-Arfaj competition, which featured card-making and video-making categories, encouraged students to explore the beauty and significance of Kuwait’s national flower, a cherished symbol of unity, resilience and appreciation for the country’s rich natural heritage. In the Card-Making Category 1, Arielle Sini Mathews of class VII secured the first prize, followed by Ayesha Rehmatullah of class VII in second place and Madiha Fatmi of class VII in third place. In Category 2, Angel Maria Subin of class IX won the first prize, while Sreebhagya Sreejith and Sarthak Karekar of class VIII shared the second position while Meenakshi Warrier of class IX secured the third position. The Video-Making category saw Ashni Grace D’Souza of class X, Steve Philip Blesson of class XI and Blessy Juliet Joel of class XII receive the first, second and third prizes respectively.
The ceremony also recognized the best scholars from each grade with Proficiency Awards for their consistent academic excellence, dedication and perseverance throughout the academic year. Zoya Ehsan Ullah Mohammed of Class VI, Adelyn Prasanth Mathews of Class VII, Alia Ehsan Ullah Mohammed of Class VIII, Juzer Mustafa Paloda of Class IX and Sheba Mary Shaiju of Class X NIOS were honoured for their outstanding academic performance. From Class XI, Joanna Elsa Joby was recognized from the Humanities stream, Arash Abidi Husain from the Science stream, and Rashi Pandya from the Commerce stream. The awards celebrated the students’ achievements and dedication while inspiring their peers to strive for excellence in both academics and creative pursuits.
The house competition brought another moment of excitement. Based on the overall points earned through the various events, the Victors House secured the first position, followed by the Leaders House. The students and their house mentors were honoured with the House Trophy amid enthusiastic cheers.
The valedictory ceremony brought the curtain down on Paradigm 2026, marking the successful conclusion of a vibrant celebration of the arts at ICSK Senior. With its wide spectrum of events, enthusiastic participation and impressive showcase of student abilities, the festival provided a memorable platform for the school community to come together and celebrate achievement. The festival will remain a significant chapter in the school’s cultural calendar, reflecting its continued commitment to providing students with opportunities to explore, compete and excel beyond the classroom.
