The Indian Community School, Senior, successfully hosted ICSK-MUN 2026–2027, providing students with a valuable platform to experience diplomacy, negotiation, international relations and consensus-building over two days, on Friday, 4th September, and Saturday, 5th September 2026. Mr. Arul Dharmaraj, Principal of Al Amal School, Kuwait graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
The conference commenced with an inaugural ceremony hosted by Master of Ceremonies Ariqah Faiz. The programme began with an Islamic prayer led by Master Mujtaba Dilawar, followed by a prayer song presented by the school choir, Swaranjali. Dr. V. Binumon, Principal and Senior Administrator of ICSK, delivered the welcome address, urging delegates to participate in discussions with open minds and uphold the core principles of diplomacy.
Addressing the gathering, the esteemed Chief Guest Mr. Arul Dharmaraj praised the enthusiasm, commitment and active participation of the delegates. He encouraged the students to look beyond familiar boundaries, broaden their perspectives and aspire to become impactful global leaders.
Secretary-General of ICSK-MUN 2026–2027, Ms. Prisha Savla, delivered the Secretary-General’s briefing, outlining the rules of procedure, expectations and guiding principles of the conference before declaring the committees open for deliberations.
Three committees formed the core of the conference. The Disarmament and International Security Committee (DISEC), directed by Master Aarav Panwar, deliberated on issues concerning global security and international peace. The United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC), directed by Miss Reddhi Singh, examined international human rights responsibilities and mechanisms for protection. The United Nations Security Council (UNSC), directed by Master Arash Abidi Husain, addressed pressing matters relating to international security and political conflicts.
Committee Directors Master Arash Abidi Husain, Miss Reddhi Singh and Master Aarav Panwar shared reflections on their respective committees, highlighting the delegates’ engagement, preparedness and contribution to the discussions.
The event also witnessed the presentation of awards to outstanding delegates. The awards were presented by Mr. Arul Dharmaraj and Dr. V. Binumon. In DISEC, Claire Ann Saju, Delegate of the USA, was named Best Delegate. Saasha Yesudhason, Delegate of Denmark, and Kamakshi Jaiswal, Delegate of France, received Honorable Mentions. Aazim Abdul Latheef, Delegate of Sweden, won Best Position Paper, while Shameena Shaikh, Delegate of Iceland, received the Diplomatic Commendation. Sudikshaa Gnanagopal, Delegate of Germany, was named Most Improved Delegate.
In the UNSC, Rachel Susan Thomas, Delegate of the USA, won Best Delegate. Mujtaba Dilawar Wangde, Delegate of Germany, and Adiva Chadha, Delegate of Taiwan, received Honorable Mentions. Anusree Biju, Delegate of France, won Best Position Paper, while Mohammed Fakhruddin, Delegate of South Korea, received the Diplomatic Commendation. Sehrish Khan, Delegate of China, was named Most Improved Delegate.
In the UNHRC, Al Afra Al Ameen, Delegate of South Africa, was named Best Delegate, while Jeanette Anna Saji, Delegate of Russia, received an Honorable Mention. Stuti Ratnawat, Delegate of Iraq, won Best Position Paper. Ayisha Diya, Delegate of the USA, received the Diplomatic Commendation, while Raed Rizwan, Delegate of Australia, was named Most Improved Delegate.
Following the awards, Secretary-General Ms. Prisha Savla announced the Certificates of Participation, which were presented to all delegates by the Chief Guest. Dr. V. Binumon presented a memento to Mr. Arul Dharmaraj as a token of appreciation.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Prisha Savla, who acknowledged the contributions of the school leadership, advisors, Secretariat and delegates towards the successful conduct of the conference.
The event came to a close with all attendees standing at attention for the United Nations Song, “United Nations on the March,” reaffirming the conference’s message of global unity, peace, diplomacy and shared purpose.
