ICSK School Academic Assessment System
ICSK School Academic Assessment System
There is a continuous and comprehensive evaluation with the objective to assess the learner in a holistic manner so that the latent competencies are reflected appropriately in the testing tools and the achievement report. There are three evaluations spread over the entire academic year. There will be no date sheets and fixed dates for the conduct of the evaluations except for the written tests/dictations. For every evaluation there will be at least one set of assessment in the various skills and subject matter of the respective subjects and languages. Another important highlight of the new scheme is the introduction of grades on a 5 point scale, which will replace the numerical scores. The non-scholastic subjects like Art, Games, Computers etc. also will be included in the evaluation and the students will be graded on a 5 point scale.
Grading scale for Scholastic Area is as given below:
Classes 10 &12 assessments will be purely in the pattern as per CBSE board examinations. Classes 9 to 12 question papers will be hired from outside agency. The Board of Examination of ICSK will be conducting all examinations.
Enrichment classes for the high achievers are inculcated as a special feature of the school calendar of curricular activities. The school identifies the apex club of students through periodic and term examinations, and through scholastic programs as well. The school provides them with counselling sessions and extra coaching classes involving the use of additional practice materials so that they can be effectively engaged and excel in their studies and which will also bring laurels to the school in the board exam. The Apex Club is led by the team of academic supervisors and subject experts where plans are being made to schedule enrichment classes with a difference. The same will be updated shortly.
ICSK offers customized tutoring to each student enrolled in the school. The institution also follows the method of continuous evaluation for students who need to perform at a better level at the boards. Reports are consolidated after the evaluations. Students are expected to maintain a specific average failing which the coordinators analyse the specific reason for such failure and accordingly advise for remedial classes. As soon as the grades of students show improvement these classes are discontinued. This process repeats itself in phases during the academic year.
