On August 28, 2024, the Indian Community School Kuwait (Senior Branch) hosted the inspiring Teach Me session, an event designed to foster leadership, confidence, and responsibility among students by giving them the opportunity to experience the role of a teacher. This unique initiative allowed students to step into their teachers' shoes and gain firsthand insight into the challenges and rewards of teaching.
The session saw active participation from students in Classes 6 to 12, with two student-teachers selected from each class. These young educators were tasked with preparing and delivering a lesson on a topic of their choice. In the days leading up to the event, the student-teachers worked diligently to create detailed lesson plans, develop engaging teaching aids, and practice their delivery to ensure a smooth and effective presentation.
Class teachers played a crucial role in this initiative, not only offering guidance and support during the preparation process but also serving as evaluators. They provided constructive feedback on key aspects such as lesson planning, teaching methods, classroom management, and how well the student-teachers engaged their peers during the session.
The event concluded with a celebratory group photo, capturing the excitement and success of all the student-teachers.
Each participant was awarded a certificate in recognition of their efforts, serving as both a token of appreciation and a motivation to continue developing their leadership, public speaking, and presentation skills. The experience also gave them a deeper appreciation for the teaching profession, helping them understand the significant responsibilities involved in managing a classroom.
Through this initiative, ICSK not only encouraged students to explore teaching as a noble profession but also provided them with an opportunity to build self-confidence, enhance their communication abilities, and develop key leadership qualities. The Teach Me session was a resounding success, leaving a lasting impact on both the participants and the audience
