The Indian Community School, Senior celebrated Children's Day on Tuesday, 14th November 2024 with immense joy and enthusiasm, marking the birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India. Fondly known as Chacha Nehru, he was a visionary who believed in the power of nurturing young minds. On this special day dedicated to children, the school honored the innocence, creativity, and boundless potential that every child embodies.
The campus was alive with festive cheer, as students, dressed in vibrant attire, were warmly welcomed by the teaching faculty. The atmosphere was filled with excitement and energy as the teachers took center stage to present a cultural extravaganza for the students. The day was filled with a variety of engaging and carefully planned activities that brought joy and laughter to all.
The celebration began with an Islamic prayer recited by Mr. Qutubbudin from the Department of Commerce, followed by the school prayer, seeking the blessings of the Almighty. Mrs. Susan Rajesh, Vice Principal of ICSK Senior, paid homage to the nation by hoisting the Kuwait national flag, and Mr. Ali, Head of the Department of Arabic, led the flag salutation. This was followed by the Kuwait national anthem.
Mrs. Lakshmi from the Department of Physical Education inspired the students with a motivational message, while Mrs. Lubna, Head of the Department of French, introduced the ‘Word of the Day’ to enrich the students' vocabulary. Mrs. Shameena from the Department of Biology then led the Indian pledge. The ICSK news desk, comprising Mr. Jitin Thomas, HOD of Social Science and Elizabeth Thomas from the Department of Mass Media, provided updates on national, international, scientific, sports, and campus news.
A special moment followed when Mr. Prasad Nambiar, Head of the Department of English, dressed as Chacha Nehru, was warmly welcomed by the audience. In his address, he shared a heartfelt anecdote, inspiring students to make wise use of knowledge and remain true to themselves. He emphasized the importance of discipline and encouraged the students to pursue their dreams with determination, live life to the fullest and spread happiness around the world.
A captivating skit presented by the teachers enthralled the audience. The skit highlighted themes of friendship, parental sacrifice, dedication to goals and the importance of discipline. The songs performed by the teachers further energized the students, filling the air with joy.
