The Indian Community School, Senior witnessed a proud and inspiring moment on Sunday, 27th April 2025, as the Investiture Ceremony for the academic year 2025–26 unfolded with grandeur and spirit. It was not just an event but a celebration of leadership, responsibility, and the beginning of a promising journey for 228 young student leaders.
The ceremony was graced by the esteemed Chief Guest H.E. Haleema Mahmood, Ambassador of Kenya to Kuwait and Guest of Honour Dr. Babu Sebastian, Former Vice Chancellor of MG University and Kannur University, and Chancellor of Vedhik IAS Academy. The dignitaries received a warm welcome in a traditional and vibrant manner.
As the newly elected Senate members marched proudly to the stage with the house flags, the atmosphere brimmed with energy and hope. The day commenced with the soulful recitation of the Holy Quran by Master Mujtaba, followed by a heartfelt prayer song by the school choir. The audience honored the national anthem of Kuwait.
Setting the tone for the morning, Mrs. Susan Rajesh, Vice Principal of ICSK Senior, welcomed the gathering with inspiring words. In her address, she emphasized the true spirit of leadership and the responsibilities that accompany it.
The ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest H.E. Haleema Mahmood and Guest of Honour Dr. Babu Sebastian, accompanied by Dr. V. Binumon, Principal and Senior Administrator of ICSK, marked the inauguration of the event. A stirring motivational song filled the air, igniting a sense of inspiration and purpose among the young leaders.
In her address, H.E. Haleema Mahmood congratulated the newly elected leaders, urging them to lead by example, act with honesty, remain committed to their goals, and perform their duties with sincerity. Sharing her personal journey—from serving as a school senate member to becoming a member of parliament and an ambassador—she motivated the students to remain positive, work diligently, respect their parents, and firmly believe in their own values.
The esteemed Guest of Honour, Dr. Babu Sebastian, in his speech, extended his congratulations and highlighted that leadership is a responsibility that must be carried out with courage, compassion, and conviction.
Adding a ceremonial grandeur, the house mentors of Achievers, Leaders, Winners, and Victors were honored with badges by the Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour followed by the official investiture of the young Senate members. They were also entrusted with guidelines outlining their roles and responsibilities as newly appointed leaders. Dr. V. Binumon, Principal and Senior Administrator of ICSK administered the oath, binding the leaders to a commitment of service and excellence. A proud moment for parents and teachers alike, 228 students were officially appointed as torch bearers of the School Senate.

The event featured a mesmerizing dance performance titled ‘Jwala – The Fire of Knowledge’, by the students captivating the audience with its energy and rhythm. The ceremony concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by the Chairperson of the School Senate, Miss Irin Claris Jaise. The gathering honored the national anthem of India.
